How Task Air Works
A Cushion Head is placed in the ceiling connecting the conventional air conditioning duct to the UCI Air Blade, the air then flows down through the Air Blade and into the workstation screen. From here, the user can adjust a personal diffuser to control the air-flow at their desk.
Installation of Task Air
UCI supplies the Workstation System, specifically modified, to duct air from the ceiling (or floor) into a blade that feeds into the workstation screen. The screen houses the diffusers, which deliver the air to the workstation.
The air conditioning contractor connects the flexible duct in the ceiling (or floor) to a spigot in the air duct above the VAV to ensure constant pressure. The flexible duct is then connected to the Task Air blade via a Cushion Head, which sits above the blade in the ceiling.
A dampner is located in the Cushion Head to allow control of air volumes to each Task Air blade. Balancing of air temperatures is completed in the same manner as conventional ceiling delivered air and should follow the Mechanical Engineers instructions
